Staff training, customer information sessions and new interest from councils who are not part of GoShift are just some of the things that have happened since our last update.

ONLINE SERVICE

We're delighted to announce that GoCouncil has been awarded the contract to provide the online service for GoShift.
 
Staff training is underway with some of the eight GoShift councils that are taking part in our pilot.  Select customers have been invited to take part in the pilot and we have already held a number of customer information evening sessions and have more booked.
 
The online service is the next major deliverable in the initiative and it’s exciting to see it progressing. If you haven’t already, make sure you take the opportunity to check it out.
 
If the pilot goes well, the online portal will be available to remaining GoShift councils on 1 July.
 
 

GOSHIFT FORMS AND CHECKLISTS

We continue to focus on having all GoShift councils using the forms by 1 July.
 
An improved version of the building consent application form was released recently. No further changes will be made to the forms during the online service pilot.
 
The most up to date forms are always available on the GoShift web page http://www.goshift.co.nz/applyonline and the easiest way to make sure you have the latest version is to link directly to the forms from this page.
 
Our new business analyst, Kate Fox, joins the team at the beginning of April and she will focus on the processing and inspection checklists. In addition, deep dive sessions are going to take place to make sure we get these important pieces of work right.
 
Dean Southey from Masterton District Council will be leading the first of these sessions which will look at processing checklists. This is happening in Palmerston North on 10 and 11 April. Thank you to the councils who have volunteered their technical staff to take part in the two day workshop to finalise the checklists. We truly appreciate the input and we wouldn't be where we are if we didn't have the continued support.
 

WIDER ENGAGEMENT

Ross McCarthy, GoShift's Strategic and Engagement Manager, has been out and about around the country supporting the online pilot and he regularly meets with the project’s support team at the  Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
 
He is also currently working closely with Sharon Threadwell from Tasman District Council who is leading the QMS work stream. The output from this first workshop will be shared with all GoShift councils once we have a draft scoping document in place (what can and can't we achieve in the first instance). We’re keen to have everyone’s input into this before we finalise it and then start the next phase of making a single quality management system a reality.
